- Two fingers should slide flat under any strap. A whole hand means it is loose enough to reverse out of.

How to measure a West Highland White Terrier
Wrap the tape around the deepest part of the chest, a few finger-widths behind the front legs, snug against the wiry coat as it lies. Re-measure after hand-stripping or clipping, which can change the reading.
